Graveside services for Sue Jo Cole, 85, of Levelland will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, January 4, 2021, at the City of Levelland Cemetery with the Reverend Ruby Moultrie officiating. A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date.
Sue was born on December 2, 1935 to Maude and Percy Cole. She died on December 28, 2020 at The Plaza in Lubbock, Texas. Sue graduated from Levelland High School in 1954. She attended Texas Tech University and received a B.S. degree in 1958 and a M.S. degree in 1970. Sue taught school in Brownfield, Texas for 23 years, and 10 years in Levelland before retiring in 1991.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, past member of Las Fidelis Study Club, Texas State Retired Teachers, and CHART Retired Teachers.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Jane Cole; and brother, John Cole.
She is survived by her brother, Jim Cole of Levelland; nephew, Michael Cole of Chicago, Illinois; niece, Cathy Cole of Cypress, Texas; and sister-in-law, Barbara Cole of Carthage, Texas.
Sue requested that memorials be made to the South Plains College Foundation, Cole Family Scholarship, 1400 S. College Avenue, Levelland, Texas 79336, or any educational endowment of your choice.
