Club Presidents, Presidents-Elect, Secretaries, and District Leaders, your District Vision Facilitation Team is prepared and eager to receive invitations from our Clubs who are ready to undertake RI Vision Facilitation.  Those of you who heard about the RIVF process at PETS last March, or at the District Assembly in April, will be able to interpret its value for your Boards and Clubs.  As an interpretive “help,” click here for a one-page information sheet which should answer basic questions for those who need an introduction, or a review.  (Thanks to DGN Susan Elizabeth Brints for this document.)  For more information and interpretive (very short!) videos, see www.rivisionfacilitation.org

Here are a few points that need emphasis:

  •  the Vision Facilitation process is undertaken only by invitation from individual Clubs—it is not imposed or mandatory, and is:  “…available to Clubs to help them determine a clear set of goals, a strong path of leadership, and a direction of service in their communities.”
  •  this process is free to Clubs , other than any meal/snacks provided by the Club
  •  the VF session, four hours maximum in length , is facilitated by four trained, neutral Rotarians from outside your Club
  • the session doesn’t happen unless there’s participation by Club leadership and wide representation from the Club Membership (see “Club Leadership Commitment” on the attached sheet; if the necessary people don’t show up, the session is canceled)
  • the RIVF process, when faithfully followed, is proven over time and experience, as attested by its inclusion in Rotary International’s latest Membership Business Plan for our own Zones 21b & 27

Questions?  Please contact RI Vision Facilitation District Chair SarahLee Morris.  When your Club leadership and Members are ready to issue an invitation, here’s how to proceed:

  1. choose three dates, focusing on Tuesday evenings (5 or 5:30 pm start) or Saturdays, that work for your Club and for which you can guarantee the requisite participation from Leadership (current President, President Elect, President Elect Nominee if known, Board Members, Past Presidents) and Membership (including “elders” and newest “Members”).
  2. send these dates and the suggested times for each date to SarahLee Morris by clicking here.
  3. be prepared to work with SarahLee on securing and setting up an appropriate meeting space, including providing a screen for projection viewing, and projector if requested (contact SarahLee for more information on what constitutes “appropriate”).

Thank you for your time in reading this note, and do not hesitate to contact SarahLee for questions or clarification.  Your D5730 Vision Facilitation Team looks forward to working with you and our Clubs to increase Rotary’s capacity for Service Above Self in our communities and around the world—Light(ing) Up Rotary in 2014-2015 and well beyond!
